This decision was made by the World Aquatics Bureau in collaboration with the Singapore 2025 Organising Committee. The event is being taken to Asia for the 3rd consecutive time, with the previous two being 2022 - Fukuoka, and 2023 - Doha. The event will feature top aquatic athletes from around the world, competing in Swimming, Diving, High Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, and Open Water Swimming.

Singapore

Singapore has a strong history of organising aquatic events over the past decade. In addition to hosting one of the World Aquatic Swimming World Cup stops later this year, Singapore has hosted World Cups in 5 of the 6 disciplines. Singapore's experience in hosting international sporting events, coupled with its exceptional facilities and organisational capabilities, has earned it the honour of being selected as the host nation for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships.

Back to the status quo

Following the COVID-19 delays, scheduling over the past three years for the World Aquatics Championships had to be adjusted. The Singapore World Championships aims to reestablish the standard biennial schedule, beginning in 2025.
